![]() ![]() To my imagination, it looks like there's no magic in the NXT/CR when you turn the switch, it might just turn on the pre-amp. The pickup is in CR is still passive like in WAV, or say just like a regular Fishman piezo, but it is only amplified by that build-in pre amp. Truly active, like my Schertler Stat-V - absolutely no sound without power (phantom power like in condenser microphones), when they aren't powered, they do not work.Ģ. There's plenty of topics on this and people say it is better to upgrade the whole fiddle to NXT than just messing with WAV wiring.īut what is the ACTUAL difference? How is the pickup "active" in CR/NXT? I suppose they're one of the two possibilities:ġ. I think there is a huge confusion/misconception in the air. Forgot the name, it's ABM or something, but the other day I searched for this and found it, wasn't pricey at all. ![]() So, are all three versions of this Polar Pickup the same? I know that CR fiddles are active, they have an build-in preamp. ![]()
